Brush Ave. Property Development Public Survey

May 29, 2026

Voice your opinion on what should be built at the former site of the Brush Building (E. 261st and Brush Ave.)

The E. 261st Street and Brush Avenue site survey is a series of open-ended introductory questions to kick off the conversation. Your feedback is critical to guiding how the site is developed in the future. This survey will be open until Friday, June 12th, 2026. We are asking for your assistance to share this survey with family, friends, and neighbors who live around the site to get as much community feedback as possible.

Your voice matters, and this is your chance to make a meaningful impact on our community's development.

Site Details

The E. 261st Street and Brush Avenue site is approximately 1.25 acres situated north of Brush Avenue, south of Bluestone Elementary school between E. 260th Street and E. 262nd Street. The former Brush Building properties were acquired by the City in 2020 and 2025 with the Brush Building and parking lot being demolished in 2025. E. 261st Street is a dead end street that has had a number of dumping complaints over the years. Below is an image of the E. 261st Street and Brush Avenue site with the site outlined in yellow. Today, the site is open greenspace with primary access from Brush Avenue. The property is zoned in the U8 Office District.
