September 1, 2023

Ms. Krieger comes to EDCOR with a strong background in nonprofit management, a proven history of success in project management, and a genuine passion for community development.

Euclid Development Corporation (EDCOR) is proud to announce the hiring of Lisa Krieger as its new Executive Director. Ms. Krieger comes to EDCOR with a strong background in nonprofit management, a proven history of success in project management, and a genuine passion for community development. Ms. Krieger previously worked with Downtown Cleveland Alliance, where she successfully led and managed multiple programs that advanced the organization’s community development initiatives.

The City of Euclid funds EDCOR to administer a Low Interest Home Improvement Loan Program. A grant from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) makes funds for this program available under the Housing and Community Development Block Grant program and the HOME program.

This Program provides a straight 3% low interest home improvement loan to income-eligible residents unable to afford conventional loans to upgrade and improve their homes. Besides correcting code violations, EDCOR helps fund major home improvements including updating faulty wiring, plumbing, and heating, repairing structural issues, replacing gutters, reinforcing foundations, and installing new doors, windows, and driveways. EDCOR also offers a down payment assistance program for income eligible first-time home buyers.

Krieger’s experience has equipped her with a unique perspective and insights perfectly suited for this position. She has spent her career developing and executing successful strategies to tackle challenges and deliver solutions. A talented communicator and collaborator, Ms. Krieger is dedicated to working hand-in-hand with EDCOR's partners and stakeholders to expand the organization's mission and make shared goals a reality.

"We are thrilled to have Lisa Krieger join EDCOR as the new Executive Director," said Mayor Kirsten Holzheimer Gail. "Lisa's experience, passion, and vision for community development make her the perfect choice to lead this organization. We are confident that her leadership will help EDCOR achieve their goal of making homeownership achievable and affordable for more Euclid families and helping to develop new ways to strengthen our community.”

The mayor’s enthusiasm is echoed by the EDCOR board of directors. “The board is excited to bring Lisa on” said EDCOR Board President Jeff Beck. “We are looking forward to expanding EDCOR’s mission!”

Krieger is excited to begin her new role at EDCOR and is eager to get to work. “I am honored to be named EDCOR’s new Executive Director. I look forward to collaborating with the city, board, partners, and community stakeholders to make affordable homeownership a reality for more Euclid families. Together, we can help expand access to safe, quality housing in this wonderful city.”

Krieger’s hiring is a significant milestone for EDCOR, and the organization is looking forward to the positive impact she will have on the community. With Ms. Krieger’s leadership, EDCOR is poised to achieve its goals to make homeownership possible for more Euclid residents. Find more information on EDCOR here.

Building Resilient Shorelines: Join Us for a Nature-Based Strategies Workshop Living along Lake Erie offers stunning views and vibrant community life, but lakefront property owners and coastal communities also face distinct challenges from shoreline erosion and storm damage to habitat loss. To address these challenges, the City of Euclid is excited to host an interactive community workshop: Building Resilient Strategies: A Workshop for Lake Erie Property Owners and Communities . Supported by a grant from the National Fish & Wildlife Foundation’s National Coastal Resilience Fund (NCRF) , this event is designed to help local residents explore sustainable, eco-friendly approaches to shoreline protection. What Are Nature-Based Strategies (NbS)? Nature-based strategies (NbS) use natural materials and ecological design to help stabilize coastlines. Unlike traditional hard infrastructure, NbS measures offer dynamic benefits, including: Erosion Control & Shoreline Stabilization: Protecting property against wave action and weather. Storm Damage Protection: Absorbing impact during severe weather events. Water Quality Improvement: Filtering runoff naturally before it reaches Lake Erie. Habitat Creation: Supporting local wildlife and aquatic ecosystems. Whether you are looking to protect your own shoreline or interested in coastal management for the broader community, this workshop will guide you through taking ideas from initial concept to full implementation. Interactive Design Session for Property Owners Are you a lakefront property owner? Bring photographs or drawings of YOUR shoreline! During the workshop, attendees will have the opportunity to participate in an interactive design process to discuss tailored solutions and potential approaches for their specific property.
