The Henn Mansion is seeking volunteers to serve as host for those renting the Henn as an event space.

The Henn Mansion is seeking volunteers to serve as hosts during special events. The goal of the host is to provide a welcoming and positive experience for individuals renting the Henn Mansion for a specific date and purpose. The Hostess/Host is the ambassador for the Henn Mansion in our relationships with the public. Activities could include weddings (80 people max), baby or wedding showers, business meetings/retreats, birthday parties, retirement parties, etc.


Responsibilities: to provide a welcoming and responsive environment for parties who have rented the Mansion for their special event, while maintaining the integrity and respect for the historic building and site.


The Hostess/host will:

·        remind our guests of the contractual agreement as it pertains to the event beginning and ending times.

·        review renter responsibilities with agreed upon activities permitted.

·        be available for questions throughout the event.

·        ensure the facility is closed properly after rental event ends.

·        complete the Hostess checklist and complete a summary evaluation of the event as it pertains to compliance with the agreed             upon contract.

 

Tasks: Open the house, put the lights on, unlock the doors, put special event signage up.

Locate a point person for the rental party. Professionally respond to any situation that may occur throughout the event. Check areas of the house to assure parties have what they need. Alert the point person when it is one hour before agreed upon closing time.

Close the house using a Hostess/Host check list.

 

Time Commitment: Time commitment varies with the event agreement itself. When scheduling the hostess/host, the time frame of the event will be available for optimal scheduling. The.

There is always flexibility in the volunteer assignment based on availability.

Hostess/host must remain at the Henn during the event.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities needed: Great interpersonal communication skills. Attention to detail, ability to convey information in a positive and constructive manner. Must be physically able to walk, stand and perform the necessary duties associated with volunteering at a rental event at the Henn Mansion.

 

Training Provided: The Hostess/Host will be oriented and trained by the Hostess Coordinator. with a mentoring session completed at their first volunteer assignment. A liaison contact number will be provided for the volunteer to respond to any questions that may arise during the event that need addressed.
