In Memory of Former Councilwoman Madeline Scarniench

We remember Madeline- an outstanding leader, public servant, mentor and friend.

Madeline Scarniench was an outstanding public servant, and community leader who with pride and dedication worked for a better City of Euclid.


She served as councilwoman for Ward 2 from 2008 to 2017, where she worked tirelessly to improve community livability, by focusing on the issues of greatest importance to her constituents.


Madeline was a strong advocate for Euclid’s community organizations such as Euclid Pet Pals, EDCOR, Euclid Senior Center, Boy Scouts, and Euclid PTA.


She will be remembered for her kind spirit, her dedication to service, and her unwavering commitment to our city and its people.

Madeline was a leader, a friend, a mentor, and a visionary who inspired us all to be better. We are grateful for her service to our community.

 Give your input on future grant-funded community development projects! Our city will be applying for the 2026 Community Development Supplemental Grant (CDSG) from Cuyahoga County. The grant provides up to $50,000 per awardee . Funds must be used for visible improvements that make neighborhoods safer, healthier, or more welcoming. Eligible projects include: ‎ ‎‎‎ ‎‎‎‎‎‎‎ Parks & Playgrounds‎‎ (equipment, resurfacing, safety upgrades) ‎ ‎‎‎ ‎‎‎‎‎‎‎ Streets & Safety (sidewalks, crosswalks, lighting, benches) ‎ ‎‎‎ ‎‎‎‎‎‎‎ Community Spaces (senior centers, rec centers, gathering spaces) ‎ ‎‎‎ ‎‎‎‎‎‎‎ Demolition/Cleanup (unsafe or blighted small structures) ‎ ‎‎‎ ‎‎‎‎‎‎‎ Planning Projects (studies/master plans for future improvements) Projects must benefit the whole community , not just one household or business.
