Job Title: Assistant Prosecutor/Assistant Law Director (Part-Time)
Department: Law
Status: A. Unclassified (Euclid Charter, Article V, Section 7; ORC 124.11 (a) (11).
B. Professional Exemption - FLSA
Job Summary: Advises and works under the immediate supervision of the Chief Prosecutor and Law Director. Prosecutes all misdemeanor traffic and criminal matters in Euclid Municipal Court.
Job Duties:
- Manage criminal cases from arraignment, pre-trial, bench/jury trial and appeal.
- Research and draft pleadings.
- Review arrest warrants and search warrants
- Assist building/housing/fire/zoning in code enforcement
- Evaluate properties for nuisance declarations
- Respond to citizen inquiries and resident complaints
- Supervise and assist law clerks
- Train and/or advise police officers on legal issues and new case law
- Perform other related miscellaneous duties as required

Work Environment: Office. Sedentary work: exerting negligible force; occasional walking and standing. Physical activity: climbing, stooping, kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping.
Requirements: JD Degree. Current license to practice law in Ohio. Ability to express and exchange ideas and instructions accurately and clearly. Knowledge of criminal law and procedure. Maintain confidentiality of attorney-client communications.
Pay rate: $38.90 - $52.64 (commensurate with experience)
Part Time 10-14 Hours/Week, Tuesdays and Thursdays
