Job Title: Kitchen Aide- Senior Center (Part-Time)

Department: Recreation Dept.

Status: A. Unclassified B. Exempt


Job Summary: Responsible for the preparation and service of all meals offered at the Senior Center.


Job Duties:


  • Prepare cart with paper goods, plasticware, condiments for dining service.
  • Verify food items against the supply order checklist.
  • Refrigerate cold foods and milk; prepare hot foods according to provided guidelines.
  • Handle all foods according to County Health and Sanitation rulings.
  • Serve foods at proper temperatures.
  • Prepare and package meals for home delivery; serve foods in proper portions.
  • Maintain an orderly and clean kitchen.
  • Perform other related duties.


Work Environment: Light to medium work: (exerting up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally). Indoor. Subject to hazards: moving mechanical parts, electric current, steam and hot water, chemicals; atmospheric conditions: fumes, odors, dust gases. Physical activity: stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping and feeling. Repetitive motions of the wrists and fingers.


Requirements:


  • High school graduate or G.E.D.
  • Ability to communicate, express and exchange ideas and instructions accurately and clearly.
  • Ability to follow all food safety protocols


Pay Rate: $11.00/hour Part -Time: Monday – Friday 8:00 am – 2:00 pm
