Job Title: Recreation Center Manager

Department: Recreation

Status: A. Unclassified. B. Exempt


Job Summary: Responsible for the overall leadership, development, implementation, and operation of the Recreation Center efforts, including the daily operation of the Recreation Center. Operates within the federal, state, and local guidelines and regulations mandated by funding sources. Works under the supervision of the Director of Recreation or designee.


Job Duties:

  • Manage the design, funding, staffing, and implementation of the services and programs offered through the Recreation Center and the City of Euclid.
  • Negotiate and administer various contracts and sub-contracts for service provision.
  • Coordinate and interact with residents, City departments, professional organizations, and the business community to create partnerships and service enhancement for the Recreation Center. Respond to requests and resolve issues.
  • Manage, supervise and provide development for staff according to required practices and standards. Prioritizes and assigns work, ensure employees follow policies and procedures
  • Prepare and recommend operational and capital budgetary needs of the Center.
  • Identify and source appropriate grant funds and complete RFP’s for the needs of the Center.
  • Administer grant-funded programs/activities and manage any related coordination, compliance, and monitoring with funding agencies. Attend training and certification sessions as required. Use computer programs and systems.
  • Submit reports as required including consolidating and analyzing data, creating narrative, and attending meetings as required.
  • Secure and maintain certifications as needed, including CPR, driving safety, First Aid, AED, etc.
  • Perform other duties as required.


Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent. Bachelor's degree in Recreation Management or equivalent experience. Driver’s license with acceptable driving record. Previous experience in an administrative capacity with supervisory responsibility. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, supervisors, other agencies, and the public. Ability to: express ideas and instructions accurately and clearly both verbally and in writing. Ability to attend after-hours meetings. Computer literate.


Work Environment: Office. Sedentary work: exerting negligible force; occasional walking and standing. Physical activity: climbing, stooping, kneeling, pushing, lifting, grasping. Perform substantial repetitive motions of the wrists, fingers, and hands


Grade 4 Pay Range: $65,125.00 – $83,782.00, 40 Hours/Week, Varied Schedule Monday-Sunday.
