Job Title: Building, Housing, and Nuisance Coordinator Clerk - Full Time
Department: Building, Housing, and Nuisance
Status: A. Classified B. Exempt
Job Summary: Provide customer service and administrative and clerical services such as data input, filing, recording, and copying documents needed to assist the housing, building, and nuisance staff in carrying out their responsibilities. Works as part of a team under the immediate supervision of the Building, Housing, and Nuisance Coordinator Supervisor.
Job Duties:
- Provide customer service regarding inspection applications, fees and department procedures.
- Receive and record building plans, determine fees and route to departments; monitor status.
- Data Entry of owner, building, zoning, inspection and complaint data into database.
- Work with staff to provide excellent service, coordinating activity to balance workload as outlined by Lead Coordinator.
- Accept, record and deposit cash receipts.
- Create and issue certificates for distribution.
- Answer multi-line department phones, provide information and direct calls as needed.
- Process internal paper flow related to department and division matters; maintain hard files.
- Prepare correspondence, mailings, requisitions and other reports.
- Make copies and operate office equipment.
- Perform other related duties as required.
Requirements:
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Strong customer service skillset
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Computer literacy with proficiency in MS Office Suite.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to express and exchange ideas and instructions accurately and clearly.
- Maintain confidentiality on departmental matters
Work Environment: Office. Sedentary work: exerting negligible force, occasional walking and standing. Physical activity: climbing, stooping kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting and grasping. Repetitive motions of the wrists, hands or fingers.
Job Grade 7: Pay Rate: $20.87 - $26.85, 40 hours/week, Monday-Friday, 8:30 am – 4:30 pm.
