Euclid Recreation & Wellness Center Set to Open in Summer

January 5, 2026

Construction of the Euclid Recreation & Wellness Center at 600 Babbitt Rd. is on track to celebrate its grand opening in the spring of 2026.

Construction of the Euclid Recreation & Wellness Center at 600 Babbitt Rd. is progressing steadily, transforming into the eagerly awaited community hub. Set to become a vibrant center for health, fitness, and community engagement, the facility is on track to celebrate its grand opening in the spring of 2026.

The plot now boasts a rich blue pre-engineered metal building accented with wood, giving the facility a modern and inviting appearance. Significant milestones have been achieved recently, bringing the center closer to substantial completion.

Window installation was completed at the end of 2025, marking an essential step as the building became fully enclosed, allowing work to continue through winter. Interior framing will begin, delineating the diverse spaces within the center to ensure each area serves its intended purpose. Although weather conditions caused temporary delays, the parking lot is partially completed. Once asphalt plants reopen, the beautifully lined and landscaped parking areas will be installed, enhancing accessibility and appearance.

The successful progress of this multifaceted project is due to the dedication and expertise of several key contributors. Infinity Construction and Brookpark Design Builders have shown unwavering commitment to the project, allowing work to continue under challenging weather conditions. Dave Urbansky, AIA, SCUP, and his team at Perspectus Architecture have provided invaluable guidance through each project phase. Mr. Urbansky's efficient management and close collaboration with both the construction team and Euclid staff have been instrumental in maintaining momentum.

Residents of Euclid are eagerly anticipating a facility that will not only meet their recreational needs but also enhance community life. The Euclid Recreation & Wellness Center will include versatile athletic courts for sports such as basketball, volleyball, pickleball, and indoor soccer. A state-of-the-art community fitness center will cater to all fitness levels. An all-season indoor walking track will allow for walking or running regardless of the weather. Multi-purpose rooms will provide flexible spaces for classes, meetings, and gatherings.

As construction advances, the Euclid community eagerly awaits further updates, looking forward to a facility that will become an integral part of community life. For more information, visit www.cityofeuclid.gov.

Building Resilient Shorelines: Join Us for a Nature-Based Strategies Workshop Living along Lake Erie offers stunning views and vibrant community life, but lakefront property owners and coastal communities also face distinct challenges from shoreline erosion and storm damage to habitat loss. To address these challenges, the City of Euclid is excited to host an interactive community workshop: Building Resilient Strategies: A Workshop for Lake Erie Property Owners and Communities . Supported by a grant from the National Fish & Wildlife Foundation’s National Coastal Resilience Fund (NCRF) , this event is designed to help local residents explore sustainable, eco-friendly approaches to shoreline protection. What Are Nature-Based Strategies (NbS)? Nature-based strategies (NbS) use natural materials and ecological design to help stabilize coastlines. Unlike traditional hard infrastructure, NbS measures offer dynamic benefits, including: Erosion Control & Shoreline Stabilization: Protecting property against wave action and weather. Storm Damage Protection: Absorbing impact during severe weather events. Water Quality Improvement: Filtering runoff naturally before it reaches Lake Erie. Habitat Creation: Supporting local wildlife and aquatic ecosystems. Whether you are looking to protect your own shoreline or interested in coastal management for the broader community, this workshop will guide you through taking ideas from initial concept to full implementation. Interactive Design Session for Property Owners Are you a lakefront property owner? Bring photographs or drawings of YOUR shoreline! During the workshop, attendees will have the opportunity to participate in an interactive design process to discuss tailored solutions and potential approaches for their specific property.
