Learn to Play Hockey Program

Ready to learn how to play hockey? Join Euclid Recreation in partnership with the Euclid Youth Hockey Association for our Learn to Play Hockey program!


This program is designed for beginners and combines foundational skating skills with hands-on hockey instruction. Participants will build confidence on the ice while learning skating, stick handling, balance, stride, knee bend, edge control, and other fundamental hockey skills.

Session 1

Learn to Play Hockey Schedule: 

  • Saturdays | 10:15–11:15 AM
  • September 26–November 14

Learn to Skate Schedule:

  • When: Tuesdays at either 6:00 PM or 6:30 PM
  • September 29–November 3

Registration Includes:

  • 6 weeks of Learn to Skate
  • 8 full-hour Learn to Play Hockey sessions
  • All necessary hockey equipment

 $195 Residents | $225 Non-Residents


Session 1 Graduation

The November 14 hockey session will also serve as a graduation/transition day for Session 1 participants. Players from Session 1 will have the opportunity to celebrate their progress and help welcome the new Session 2 participants.

Learn to Skate Schedule:

Registration Includes:

  • 6 weeks of Learn to Skate
  • 6 full-hour Learn to Play Hockey sessions

 $175 Residents | $200 Non-Residents


Equipment Provided

All necessary hockey equipment is provided for participants.

All equipment must be returned at the end of the session. However, if a player joins the Euclid Youth Hockey Association, they may keep the equipment until the end of the season.
