Job Title:           Van Driver- Senior Programs- Part Time Substitute

Department:      Recreation     

Status:              A. Classified. B. Nonexempt   

           

Job Summary:   Responsible for safely transporting Euclid Senior Citizens to nutrition sites, medical appointments, shopping centers, and other sites. As well as delivering meals to homebound participants. This employee works under the immediate supervision of the Program Manager or designee.

       

Job Duties:


  • Drive City vans and autos; operate a wheelchair lift.
  • Transport Seniors to various approved sites as needed.
  • Deliver meals to the homebound.
  • Report any significant changes in the Senior's behavior, health or personality.
  • Maintain cleanliness of van; report malfunctions or damages.
  • Perform other related duties as required. 

 

Requirements: 


  • High School graduate or G.E.D. certificate preferred. 
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to communicate, express, and exchange ideas and instructions accurately and clearly.   


Work Environment: Light work (exerting up to 25 lbs of force occasionally). Indoor/outdoor. Physical Activity: climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping.

 

$12.00 per hour, Part Time Substitute, M-F 8:00 am – 3:00 pm

The grant provides up to $50,000 per awardee . Funds must be used for visible improvements that make neighborhoods safer, healthier, or more welcoming. Eligible projects include: ‎ ‎‎‎ ‎‎‎‎‎‎‎ Parks & Playgrounds‎‎ (equipment, resurfacing, safety upgrades) ‎ ‎‎‎ ‎‎‎‎‎‎‎ Streets & Safety (sidewalks, crosswalks, lighting, benches) ‎ ‎‎‎ ‎‎‎‎‎‎‎ Community Spaces (senior centers, rec centers, gathering spaces) ‎ ‎‎‎ ‎‎‎‎‎‎‎ Demolition/Cleanup (unsafe or blighted small structures) ‎ ‎‎‎ ‎‎‎‎‎‎‎ Planning Projects (studies/master plans for future improvements) Projects must benefit the whole community , not just one household or business.
