Job Title:           Laborer - Seasonal

Department:      Parks and Recreation                     

Status:               Classified Nonexempt

           

Job Summary: Responsible for a variety of routine tasks needed to repair and maintain the Parks and Recreational facilities of the City of Euclid. Works under the immediate supervision of the Working Foremen of the Parks and Recreation Department.

 

Job Duties:

           

  • Grass cutting, weed whacking, and general landscape maintenance;
  • Dig, spread, sweep and level dirt and gravel, using pick and shovel;
  • Lift, carry, hold, load and unload tools and equipment;
  • Clean tools, equipment, material and work areas;
  • Mix, pour and spread concrete, asphalt, gravel and other materials;
  • Operate pickup trucks;
  • Comply with all departmental safety regulations;
  • Perform other related duties as required.

Work Environment: Heavy work (exerting up to 100 lbs. of force occasionally); indoor/outdoor, exposed to all weather conditions. Subject to hazards: Moving mechanical parts, electric current, water, chemicals; atmospheric conditions: fumes, odors, dust, gases; noise and vibration. Physical activity: climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, and grasping. Consistent use of arms, hands, legs, feet and back.


Requirements: 

High school graduate. Valid Ohio driver’s license. Ability to: express and exchange ideas and instructions accurately and clearly.

     

Pay Rate: $15.00 per hour


Hours: Seasonal up to 40 hours a week, Monday through Sunday, Variable shifts: 1:30 pm 6:30 pm and 4:30 pm – 9:30 pm
