Job Title: Recreation Program Coordinator
Department: Recreation
Status: A. Classified B. Exempt
Job Summary: To assist Recreation Director with the planning, directing, and coordinating activities of paid and volunteer recreation employees engaged in the development, administration, and utilization of recreation programming. Performs duties with little direct supervision.
Job Duties:
- Develops and promotes recreation programs to meet needs of various individuals and groups within the community.
- Introduces new program activities, equipment, and materials to staff and the public.
- Makes recommendations in the selection, termination, and discipline of employees, as well as evaluating performance and developing each employee to their full potential.
- Organizes the daily operations for Summer/Winter recreation programs. The schedule may include evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to interact with the public and co-workers
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees.
- Answers telephone and gives information to callers and places outgoing calls.
- Prepares notes, correspondence and reports using word processor or computer terminal as well as utilizing the Internet.
- Ability to speak and make presentations for various groups and organizations.
- Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks.
- Ability to understand and communicate written instructions.
- Responsible to self-initiate activities
Work Environment: Medium work. Outdoors, Physical activity, stooping, kneeling, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting and grasping.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Valid Ohio driver’s license
- Preferred BA in Recreation Administration or related field,
- Not less than two (2) years experience in the Recreation field, six months being in a supervisory position OR, an equivalent level of education and experience.
Pay: Grade 6 $22.04 - $29.93
Full-Time:
40 hours/week Monday – Friday, Varied Shifts.
