Citywide Street Tree Removal Has Begun

December 1, 2025

VanCuren Services began the removal of approximately 170 tree lawn trees around the City.

The 2025 Citywide Street Tree Removal Program is now underway. Starting the week of 12/1/25, our trusted partners at VanCuren Services kicked off the process of removing approximately 170 tree lawn trees across our beautiful city.

With an investment of nearly $200,000, this initiative represents one of the largest recent commitments to enhancing Euclid’s Urban Forest.

Timeline

This significant project is expected to span several months, with all contract work scheduled for completion by Spring 2026. We appreciate your patience and support as we work diligently to improve our community's green spaces.

Removal Process

Here's what you need to know about the tree removal process:

  • Notification:
  1. Residents should have received postcards last month indicating which trees were marked for removal.
  2. Yard signs will be placed near active removal sites to keep everyone informed.
  3. After a tree is removed, a door hanger will be left at the adjacent home with further details.
  • Stump Removal: Please note that stumps will not be ground on the same day as tree removal. The door hangers will inform you that VanCuren Services will return later to grind the stump and restore the lawn, with this phase likely occurring in Spring 2026.

If you have any questions or need further information, don't hesitate to reach out to our Urban Forester, Jody Lathwell. You can contact Jody at urbanforestry@cityofeuclid.gov or by calling (216) 289-8141.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation as we strive to enhance our community's green spaces! Together, we're making Euclid a greener, healthier place to live. 🌳✨
