NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING FOR EUCLID 2025 CDBG PRELIMINARY BUDGET & ACTION PLAN

A Public Hearing will be held on Tuesday, December 3, 2024 at 6:30 PM 

The following is a summary of the City of Euclid’s projected budget for the Annual Plan for Program Year (PY) 2025 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) as recommended. A Public Hearing will be held to review the comments to the budget for the one-year plan for PY 2025, as well as the goals of the 2025-2029 Consolidated Plan, on Tuesday, December 3, 2024 at 6:30 PM in Council Chambers at Euclid City Hall – 585 E. 222 Street, Euclid, OH 44123.

The forthcoming FY 2025 Annual Action Plan and 2025-2029 Consolidated Plan, which describes how the City of Euclid will utilize and leverage CDBG funds will be available for a 30-day public review at a later date when the actual grant allocation from HUD is released. In the meantime, you may review a copy of the current FY 2024 Annual Action Plan and 2020-2024 Consolidated Plan for reference at www.cityofeuclid.com or by contacting the City of Euclid Department of Planning and Development at (216) 289-2830. Any comments should be in writing and submitted to the Department of Planning and Development no later than Monday, December 2, 2024 at 4:00 PM.

 Give your input on future grant-funded community development projects! Our city will be applying for the 2026 Community Development Supplemental Grant (CDSG) from Cuyahoga County. The grant provides up to $50,000 per awardee . Funds must be used for visible improvements that make neighborhoods safer, healthier, or more welcoming. Eligible projects include: ‎ ‎‎‎ ‎‎‎‎‎‎‎ Parks & Playgrounds‎‎ (equipment, resurfacing, safety upgrades) ‎ ‎‎‎ ‎‎‎‎‎‎‎ Streets & Safety (sidewalks, crosswalks, lighting, benches) ‎ ‎‎‎ ‎‎‎‎‎‎‎ Community Spaces (senior centers, rec centers, gathering spaces) ‎ ‎‎‎ ‎‎‎‎‎‎‎ Demolition/Cleanup (unsafe or blighted small structures) ‎ ‎‎‎ ‎‎‎‎‎‎‎ Planning Projects (studies/master plans for future improvements) Projects must benefit the whole community , not just one household or business.
