Residential Lock Box Program Available Now

July 24, 2025

This program will allow Fire and EMS to enter a home in the case of a medical emergency.

The Euclid Fire Department’s Fire Prevention Bureau will make lock boxes available to income-qualifying Euclid residents. This program will be in partnership with the City of Euclid’s Division of Community Development through the Department of Planning and Development.

Funding for this program will be made possible through CDBG-CV (CARES Act Community Development Block Grant), provided by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).

This program will allow Fire and EMS to enter a home in the case of a medical emergency without breaking down the doors of the house. The lock box will be installed within the door frame, or on the door, of a frequently used entryway for ease of access to first responders.

This program will be available to both Euclid homeowners and Euclid tenants who reside in single-, two- and three-family housing units, and apartment units. However, the following qualifications apply:

  1. Be a Homeowner or a Tenant residing within the City of Euclid, OH
