Village of Healing Advocates for Healthy Babies

Euclid's Village of Healing Women's Health Center was featured on the front page of the Plain Dealer for their work in the black community.

Euclid's own Village of Healing Women's Health Center was featured on the front page of The Plain Dealer today in recognition of their work to reduce infant and maternal mortality rates in the Black community.

In Cuyahoga County, Black babies are almost three times more likely to die before their first birthday than white babies. In 2021, the infant mortality rate per 1,000 births was 11.6 for Blacks, compared to 5.2 for whites. Village of Healing strives to reverse these statistics by providing quality care for Black women, by Black providers.

"We are thrilled to have a resource like Village of Healing in the City of Euclid," said Mayor Kirsten Holzheimer Gail. "Euclid is committed to creating a healthy community for all and it certainly 'takes a village'. We look forward to supporting Tenisha and Da'na as they work to create better health outcomes for Black women and children."
