The City of Euclid is looking to fill vacancies on the newly reconstituted Euclid Landmark Commission.

The City of Euclid invites passionate individuals to apply for a position on the Euclid Landmark Commission. This commission is dedicated to preserving the rich history and cultural heritage of Euclid by designating and safeguarding landmarks within the city.


The Euclid Landmark Commission consists of five members appointed by the Mayor and approved by a majority of the City Council. Members serve three-year terms after the initial staggered term appointments. The commission includes at least two preservation-related professionals, provided such experts are available in the community.


The commission aims to:

  • Safeguard Euclid's heritage by preserving culturally and historically significant sites and structures.
  • Stabilize and improve property values.
  • Enhance the city's attractions for residents, tourists, and businesses.
  • Promote civic pride in Euclid's historical accomplishments.
  • Encourage the use of historic sites for educational and public welfare purposes.


Applicants must have been Euclid residents for at least five years and demonstrate an interest in the city's history.


The commission holds meetings once per month, typically at Euclid City Hall.
