Join the Euclid Landmark Commission
The City of Euclid is looking to fill vacancies on the newly reconstituted Euclid Landmark Commission.
The City of Euclid invites passionate individuals to apply for a position on the Euclid Landmark Commission. This commission is dedicated to preserving the rich history and cultural heritage of Euclid by designating and safeguarding landmarks within the city.
The Euclid Landmark Commission consists of five volunteer members appointed by the Mayor and approved by a majority of the City Council. Volunteer Commissioners serve three-year terms after the initial staggered term appointments. The commission includes at least two preservation-related professionals, provided such experts are available in the community.
The commission aims to:
- Safeguard Euclid's heritage by preserving culturally and historically significant sites and structures.
- Stabilize and improve property values.
- Enhance the city's attractions for residents, tourists, and businesses.
- Promote civic pride in Euclid's historical accomplishments.
- Encourage the use of historic sites for educational and public welfare purposes.
Applicants must have been Euclid residents for at least five years and demonstrate an interest in the city's history. Serving on the Commission is on a volunteer-basis and offers no compensation.
It is anticipated that the Commission will meet quarterly in the evenings with work sessions scheduled on an as-needed basis. The Commission will finalize its meeting schedule for 2026 at its first meeting.
If you have a passion for history, architecture, or cultural preservation, and meet the qualifications, we encourage you to apply and contribute to preserving Euclid's unique heritage!
