Snow Plow / Parking Ban Info

January 27, 2026

City streets are plows in order of traffic volume. The snow parking ban is in place anytime there is 2+ inches of snow.

It is our goal to have all streets in the City plowed within 24 hours of a storm ending. During storms where snowfall reaches 1 inch per hour or more, main roads (those in Priority 1 below) will be plowed as frequently as possible.

Priority 1: Main Arterials & Emergency Routes
• Major thoroughfares that carry the highest traffic volumes
• Roads serving hospitals, fire stations, police, and other emergency facilities
• Bus routes and primary connectors between neighborhoods
• These routes are plowed and salted continuously throughout the storm to maintain passable conditions

Priority 2: Secondary Streets & Commercial Corridors
• Collector roads that feed into main arterials
• Streets serving schools, business districts, and high-density residential areas
• Plowing begins once Priority 1 routes are stabilized and safe for travel

Priority 3: Residential Streets
• Local neighborhood streets and cul-de-sacs
• Serviced after primary and secondary routes have been cleared
• Crews focus on making these streets passable; bare pavement may not be immediately achievable depending on conditions.
• Because these roads are serviced last, any time Priority 1 or Priority 2 routes require additional maintenance, work on these areas     will be delayed and moved to the back of the queue again.

Snow Parking Ban

The Citywide Snow Parking Ban will be in effect any time snow exceeds 2 inches. During times of accumulation, please do not park in the street! Leave room for our snow plows to do their job.
